Our Commitment

UNPWNED is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards to support equal access for all users.

Conformance Status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. For Israeli accessibility compliance, our legal baseline is Israeli Standard 5568 for web content accessibility, which is based on WCAG 2.0 Level AA. We use WCAG 2.2 AA as our working target where it is technically applicable because it includes the earlier WCAG 2.0 AA requirements and adds newer accessibility criteria.

Measures Taken

  • Semantic HTML markup with proper heading hierarchy and landmark regions
  • ARIA labels on interactive elements, navigation controls, and icon-only buttons
  • Keyboard-navigable interface with skip-to-content link across all pages
  • Color contrast review for text and interactive components against WCAG AA targets
  • Visible focus indicators on all focusable elements using :focus-visible
  • Responsive design that supports text scaling up to 200%
  • Reduced motion support via prefers-reduced-motion media query
  • Screen reader compatibility considerations for common assistive technologies
  • Descriptive alt text on informational images and icons
  • Live regions for dynamic content updates (scan progress, notifications)

Assessment Methods

UNPWNED assesses and improves accessibility using the following methods:

  • Automated Lighthouse accessibility checks and axe-core checks during accessibility reviews
  • Manual keyboard navigation checks on primary user flows
  • Screen reader spot checks on primary navigation, forms, and reports
  • Color contrast review using WCAG contrast ratio requirements
  • Responsive zoom checks at 200% magnification
  • Review against Israeli Standard 5568 / WCAG 2.0 AA for public marketing and account flows

Known Limitations

While we strive for full conformance, certain areas may have limitations:

  • Some third-party embedded content (analytics, payment forms) may not meet all accessibility standards
  • PDF exports of scan reports may have limited accessibility features
  • Complex scan result visualizations are supplemented with text alternatives where possible

We are actively working to address these limitations and improve accessibility across all features.

Accessibility Compliance

We aim to make our digital services accessible to persons with disabilities and to align with applicable accessibility laws and regulations, including the Israeli Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities accessibility framework, Israeli Standard 5568 / WCAG 2.0 AA, WCAG 2.2 AA as an internal target, the ADA, the European Accessibility Act, and other regional accessibility requirements where they apply.
